Hindi Poem: DekhoToot Raha Hai Tara by Harivansh R Bachchan
Dekho toot raha hai,
Nabh se uska pyaara choot raha hai.
Kya nabh rota sa dikhta hai,
Kya koi taara bujha bujha sa lagta hai?
Phir tum kyu rote ho,
Dukh ke kshano me apna sanyam kyu khote ho?
Jeevan apni gati se chalta hai,
Samay har pal hi badalta hai.
Jo chala gaya use jana tha,
Khushi ka kshan uska tumhare jeevan me aana tha.
Un khushi ke palo ko sanjo lo,
Jeevan jis kshan tak hai jee lo.
Jeevan me naye taare aayenge,
Jevan ke shunya ko bhar jaayenge.
tabhi ambar har taare ke tootne par mook raha hai,
Dekho taara toot raha hai.
Dekho taara toot raha hai.
A Celestial Melody of Resilience
The poignant poem “Dekho, Toot Raha Hai Tara” by Harivansh Rai Bachchan paints a vivid picture of a fading star. Against the limitless canvas of the sky, a shimmering streak glides, tracing its ephemeral path. The star’s light wanes, merging into the void, yet it remains dear—a cherished beacon.
The verses evoke questions: Does the sky weep silently when a star shatters? Does any star flicker dimly, extinguishing like a smoldering ember? Amid life’s fleeting moments, why do we lose our composure? Why surrender to despair when our journey is but a brief spark?
Bachchan’s words remind us that vulnerability and strength coexist. The star’s demise mirrors our own struggles—the delicate balance between existence and oblivion. As we gaze upward, we glimpse our shared destiny—a cosmic dance of creation and dissolution.
In this celestial ode, Bachchan urges us to embrace impermanence. The star’s fall isn’t a tragedy; it’s a testament to resilience. We, too, must shine brightly, even when our light wavers. For every fading star leaves behind stardust—a legacy etched in the fabric of eternity.
