Born Sahabzade Irfan Ali Khan on January 7, 1967, Irrfan Khan emerged as an iconic figure in Indian cinema. He ventured into both Hindi and international films, earning widespread acclaim for his versatile performances. Despite initial struggles, Khan’s dedication and talent propelled him to the forefront of the industry.
Khan’s cinematic journey commenced with a small role in the acclaimed film Salaam Bombay! in 1988. However, it was not until his portrayal in The Warrior (2001) that he garnered significant attention. Subsequently, starring roles in dramas like Haasil (2003) and Maqbool (2004) solidified his position as a distinguished actor.
Khan’s repertoire expanded with acclaimed performances in The Namesake (2006), Life in a… Metro (2007), and Paan Singh Tomar (2011). His portrayal of the title character in the latter earned him the prestigious National Film Award for Best Actor. Khan’s international footprint grew with roles in Hollywood blockbusters like The Amazing Spider-Man (2012), Life of Pi (2012), and Jurassic World (2015).
