Iqbal Ashhar
An Indian Urdu language poet Iqbal Ashhar, (born 26 October 1965) in Kucha Chelan, Delhi. He is a son of Abdul Lateef and Sakeena Khatoon his ancestors hailed from Amroha in Western Uttar Pradesh.
He received his primary education from Shanta Nursery School and secondary education from Ramjas School No.1 (Daryaganj). B.A (Honours) in Urdu from Zakir Husain Delhi College.
Malka Naseem
Born in Allahabad on 1st Jaunuary, 1954; Malka Naseem, living in Jaipur. Got masters in Urdu literature from Lucknow university. She has a prominent place among the women poets who surfaced around 1980. She is famous in Mushairas as well, got an award for her literary achievements, from Rajasthan Urdu Academy. Mingling of contemporary trends & sensibility and classical Ghazal are the beauty of her poetry and and her faminine tone is very dignified.
Shahpar Rasool
Wajeeduddin (Shehpar Rasool) was born in 17 October 1956 in Bachhraon, Uttar Pradesh. He has been an academician, poet and critic of Urdu language. Currently he is associated with Jamia Milia Islamia, New Delhi. His two books on poetry ‘Sadaf Samandar’, and ‘Sukhan-siraab’ have been published so far. ‘Chasm-e-dauraan’, and ‘Paimaana-e-sifat’ are his books on prose.

About Jashn-e-Rekhta
Jashn-e-Rekhta is a three-day celebration of our Hindustani language, literature & cultural heritage, held annually in Delhi under the aegis of the Rekhta Foundation, a not-for-profit organization devoted to the preservation and promotion of the languages and literature of the Indian sub-continent.
The event includes splendid musical performances of ghazals, sufi music, dastangoi, panel discussions, poetry recitations, enriching conversations, masterclasses, workshops, dance, drama, art and crafts bazaar, book fair and a lot more. Another highlight of this festival is the Aiwan-i-Zaiqa, a curated food festuval that offers over 15 multi-cuisine food stalls ranging from Awadhi, Hyderabadi, Purani Dilli, Rampuri, Kashmiri, Parsi and Punjabi for the foodie in you.
The last five years of Jashn-e-Rekhta have witnessed participation from doyens of literature as well as prominent names from the film, music and TV fraternity like Gulzar, Javed Akhtar, Shabana Azmi, Vishal Bhardwaj, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, Pandit Jasraj, Waheeda Rehman, Malini Awasthi, Prasoon Joshi, Wadali Brothers, Ustad Rashid Khan, Amish Tripathi, Shubha Mudgal, Annu Kapoor, Hans Raj Hans, Nooran Sisters, Sharmila Tagore, Prem Chopra, Muzaffar Ali and many others.
