WORTH

Introspective poem Worth by Arun Pandit

PEOPLE SAID THAT I INSPIRED
MAYBE THAT’S WHY I WAS ADMIRED
BUT SOMEWHERE INSIDE
I FELT AS IF I WAS WIRED
WOUNDED AND TIRED
MY TEARS FELL LIKE RAIN
MAKING ME GO INSANE
DEEP WITHIN ME THE QUESTION ARISED
DO I STILL HAVE THE FIRE?
TO TAKE ME HIGHER
DO I STILL HAVE THE FORCE
OR I AM WORTH OF ONLY REMORSE
IS IT AN IMAGINATION
OR MY WORTHS ASSASINATION
I FELT MY FAITH WAS WOUNDED
MY CONFIDENCE WAS GROUNDED
I NEVER GAVE UP!
FAIL! FALL! GET UP!
LIKE A HIT ME DOLL
WHICH IS MADE TO HIT AND FALL
GETTING UP JUST TO REALISE
THAT IT WOULD BE HIT AGAIN
BLOW AFTER BLOW
TIME AND AGAIN
SUCKING THE LIFE OUT
MAKING ME INSANE
SCREAMING PAIN
LIFE IS A BANE
A NEVER ENDING TEST
WITH ABSOLUTELY NO REST
NOTHING IS FAIR
NOTHING TO AVAIL
HONESTY AND TRUTH
ARE SYNONYMS OF FAIRY TALE
GOOD IS BAD AND BAD IS GOOD
THE ONE YOU CONSIDER DEAR
COULD BE AN OBJECT OF FEAR
THE ONE YOU CARE
CAN IN FUTURE GIVE YOU A SCARE
THIS IS THE TRUTH NO ONE WANTS TO HEAR
IT’S HARD TO BEAR
WHATEVER I LEARNED
LIFE HAS BURNED
THIS FIRE IS GETTING HIGHER
IT’S GETTING SO DARK
AND I AM NOT LEAVING ANY MARK
SILENTLY
MY INNERSELF IS CRYING…
MY SPARK IS SHYING….
MY WORTH IS DYING…
