Defeat Your Depression
Here are some simple tips that help you avoid depression
“If there is no enemy within, the enemy outside can do you no harm.” African proverb
What a follow-up to our first entry! The focus is still on the inside versus the outside. Are you at peace with yourself? If you are, all is well. If you’re not, I invite you to explore what is disturbing that peace – is it an irrational thought? Is it some sort of feeling you are trying to get rid of instead of accepting? Is it a habit that takes you away from your self? Many people have a difficult time focusing on themselves. Our society is full of distractions; we often get caught up ivibes..er people’s dramas and problems and fail to return to our own sense of groundedness and peace. When we diconnect from ourselves for a period of time we become vulnerable to the “enemy outside.” When we are grounded in ourselves, we can frequently use “I” statements and can take time-outs to reconnect with ourselves, and the enemy outside diminishes. When we focus on that enemy, we lose ourselves and become vulnerable. To protect ourselves all we need to do is to connect with ourselves frequently. The inner glow will take care of the weather outside! So kill those thoughts that gives you bad vibes.
2.You are loved
You must love yourself before you love another. By accepting yourself and fully being what you are, your simple presence can make others happy.Loving yourself…does not mean being self-absorbed or narcissistic, or disregarding others. Rather it means welcoming yourself as the most honored guest in your own heart, a guest worthy of respect, a lovable companion.
To love yourself right now, just as you are, is to give yourself heaven. Don’t wait until you die. If you wait, you die now.
3. Stay Alive
Even as you’re self-improving, cocooning yourself and waiting to erupt, making better beauty, fashion, friendship choices, you’re still enough. It’s so tempting to condemn yourself now with that future goal of becoming more palatable, more tolerable, more interesting, prettier in photos. But now, right now, you are still enough for all things. Explore what you want. You can wait, but you don’t have to.
You’re learning, but you’re still yourself. You deserve. You don’t need to aim to be desired. You’re enough, it’s enough. Stay alive.
